Visit us by bus

We welcome bus groups to our factory in Nusnäs. Here, you can experience how Dala horses are handcrafted — with guided tours, a shop, and a café on site.

How to book your visit

Your group is warmly welcome to visit Nils Olsson Dalahästar in Nusnäs, in the heart of the Dala horse tradition. Here, you can experience the craftsmanship up close, watch our skilled artisans at work, and visit our shop featuring Dala horses, local products, and Swedish handicrafts.

Groups visiting on their own do not need to pre-book. You are welcome to visit during our regular opening hours and explore the area at your own pace.

However, if you would like a guided tour for a larger group, this must be booked in advance. For larger groups wishing to enjoy coffee or refreshments together in our café, we also recommend pre-booking so that we can accommodate you in the best possible way.

Please contact us by phone or email with information about your group, preferred date, and arrival time. We will get back to you as soon as possible with confirmation and further details.

When contacting us, please include:

  • Date of the visit
  • Number of participants
  • Preferred time
  • Whether you would like a guided tour
  • Language preferences – we can offer Swedish, English and German

Guided tour

Join a guided tour and discover the story behind Sweden’s most famous symbol. During the tour, you will gain a unique insight into how the Dala horse is made — from a simple piece of wood to a fully hand-painted work of craftsmanship. You will experience the active workshop, get up close to the craft itself, and learn more about the history of the Dala horse and its significance to Sweden.

Groups can book guided tours year-round upon request. The guided tour itself lasts approximately 20 minutes, and together with time to explore the workshop and shop, the total visit is estimated to take around 60 minutes.
